You may know him as the "Bear Jew" from
Inglourious Basterds or the director of such horror flicks as both of the
Hostel films, but now you can have your own hands-on Eli Roth experience. No, I'm not referring to that. The actor, director, writer and producer recently announced in
Variety that scenes from his films will be turned into a ride at Universal Studios. Roth will design a maze based off several of his films for the amusement park's annual event Halloween Horror Nights.
It will be called "The Hostel: Hunting Season."
"
Creating a maze for Halloween Horror Nights is a horror fan's dream come true," Roth said. "
I've been visiting Halloween Horror Nights for years, and still remember the heart-pounding terror of going through the mazes for the first time."
And while the focus of the maze will clearly be the Hostel films, Roth says he will incorporate some "other surprises" as well. Personally I'm a big fan of his totally underrated film Cabin Fever. It's scary, it's gross and it's hilarious. I mean, any movie where one of the main characters loses about a pound of flesh shaving her legs in the bathroom gets an A+ in my book.
Universal Studio's Halloween Horror Nights runs from September 23 through October 31. Will you go? What's your favorite Eli Roth film?
