This doesn't really come as a surprise. After U.S. midnight shows alone sold $43.5 million (beating out Twilight New Moon...take that losers!), the U.S. weekend total came to $168.5 million. The final film has raked in $475.5 million worldwide thus far and it's only been out less than four days. I guess the "It All Ends" posters were misinterpretted as "It All Ends This Weekend So Hurry Up And Watch It."The U.S. $168.5 million weekend surpasses the record set by The Dark Knight ($158.4 million) in 2008. The film has received almost all positive reviews from critics, including this blog, and currently has more than 20 showtimes at my local theater. I've already seen the film twice and plan on many more trips. Though I know I'm contributing money to a franchise that definitely doesn't need any more, I quash these concerns by remembering that J.K. Rowling was once a single mother on welfare.
