The slim British film star of My Week With Marilyn will now play an iconic role in British history. Redmayne will play the role of Marius in the new musical adaptation of Les Miserables. So far Hugh Jackman is set to play the lead role of Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe will play Javier and Anne Hathaway recently announced she will play the tragic character of Fantine. Redmayne won a Tony Award for his performance in the play Red in 2010. In his upcoming film (Nov. 23) My Week With Marilyn, Redmayne plays Colin, Monroe's (Michelle Williams) love interest. Those who are familiar with the story of Les Mis know that Redmayne's love interest days are far from over.
