Lea Michele in running for Eponine in 'Les Miserables' adaptation

It seems Rachel Berry is once again "on her own." After singing the popular song in Glee's first episode (and other Les Mis songs in following episodes), Lea Michele has now auditioned for the role of Eponine in the new musical adaptation according to Entertainment Weekly.

Michele is not new to the show or the Broadway stage. At the age of nine she played Young Cosette and is best known on Broadway for her role as Wendla in 2007's Spring Awakening. She also played Eponine in the Hollywood Bowl's Les Miserables concert in 2008 and gave up the role in the revival production to star in Spring Awakening.

No official news yet on whether or not she's been offered the role. Those who have been confirmed include — Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as Javier, Anne Hathaway as Fantine and Eddie Redmayne as Marius.

Would you like to see Michele in this role? I'm not sure how she would do, as she tends to be overly dramatic on Glee, but she does have the vocal talent required.
