Anne Hathaway has officially signed on to play Fantine in Hugh Jackman's musical adaptation of the hit Broadway show "Les Miserables." Fantine is the mother of Cosette who tragically dies in the first act of the show. Though Hathaway has the pipes for the role, I'm not sure she's the best pick. Someone like Amy Adams (who was also considered) might play a sick and dying woman better than the vibrant Hathaway. Jackman is set to play Jean Valjean and Russell Crowe will play Javier. No news yet on the rest of this cast. I'll keep you posted!
