International markets will NOT be removing 'Harry Potter' DVDs and Blu-rays from shelves

Though it was announced early this week that U.S. stores would stop releasing Harry Potter DVDs and Blu-rays after Dec. 29, it has been confirmed that international stores will not enforce these same measures.

American vendors will discontinue to the release on Dec. 29, only a little more than a month after the Nov. 11 release of the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Similar to the Disney "vault," the Potter films will be rereleased and discontinued as Warner Bros. sees fit over the next few years.

So be sure to put a copy on your holiday wish list if you want to ensure maximum viewing potential in the U.S. No news on when the film will be rereleased.
