It seems that the Boy Who Lived is continuing in the footsteps of other famous children's movies. Warner Bros. will not distribute any other
Potter films after Dec. 29. Similar to the Disney "vault," the
Potter movies will be periodically re-released in stores.
Harry Potter: The Complete 8-Film Collection hits stores Nov. 11 and will also be discontinued on Dec. 29. The 8-film package will run at around $60 and will probably be a Christmas list bestseller. According to
Entertainment Weekly, $5.1 billion of the $12.1 billion that
Harry Potter has brought Warner Bros. has come from the home entertainment department of the company. So be sure to get the latest
Potter film,
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, when it comes out on Nov. 11. If not, the opportunity may not present itself for a while.
