Top 5 Actors Who Need Better Agents

It's hard to be a fan of certain actors and actresses when they continue to star in bad movies. But may it's not all their fault. Here is my "Top 5 Actors Who Need Better Agents" list. Do you agree?

1) By far one of my favorite actors and top celebrity crushes, Jack Black has always received the short end of the stick. He has the ability to play hilarious sidekicks (High Fidelity) and fantastic lead roles (School of Rock), but has also endured endless criticism for his more recent films. The list goes on and on: Nacho Libre, Year One, Gulliver's Travels and let's not forget the latest movie on bird watching, The Big Year. Along the way he's had some success stories: voicing Po in Kung Fu Panda's 1 and 2, Tropic Thunder and The Holiday, but mostly his talents have been under-appreciated.

2) What happened to the House Bunny we all knew and loved? She was forced to star in Yogi Bear, Take Me Home Tonight and What's Your Number? Anna Faris could be a great female comedian, but unfortunately, her latest pictures have been jokes of the film industry (two already potentials for Razzie awards). Up next? A role in Sacha Baron Cohen's The Dictator. Hopefully it will be more promising than it sounds.

3) I have rarely defended Ryan Reynolds as I have rarely thought he was a particularly strong actor, but I think it's possible he's getting the short end of the stick. His performance in The Proposal was charming enough and since then he's been doomed to star in a series of flops so you have to feel somewhat bad for the guy. The Green Lantern was by far the worst superhero movie of the summer, panned by most and The Change-Up received few compliments. He's an attractive enough guy; he should be given the chance to prove himself with a decent movie (isn't that the reasoning behind Bradley Cooper movies?).

4) A clearly diverse and talented actress, Rachel McAdams recently hasn't been given much of a chance. Her first major role as Regina George in Mean Girls won her a claim to fame that could have led to a career in teenage blockbusters, but instead she chose to play a variety of roles from The Notebook to Red Eye to The Family Stone. It's clear she doesn't fit into one set role, but lately her films have been in the flop category. In 2010's Morning Glory, she played a very awkward TV news producer in a story that never quite worked. She was also the star of the film adaptation of The Time Traveler's Wife, which never made a big box office dent. Recently she was miscast in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris as the unromantic fiance of Owen Wilson. The horizon doesn't look too bright for McAdams either. She's set to star in The Vow, where she loses her memory after a car accident and her husband (Channing Tatum) tries to make her fall back in love. Surprisingly this last film isn't based off a Nicholas Sparks book, though it might have been better if it was.

5) While she rocked it in the '80s and '90s, Julia Roberts has struggled lately to produce strong movies. She was one of many stars in 2010's Valentine's Day, which unsuccessfully attempted to copy the Love Actually multiple-storyline style. Her most recent films were Eat Pray Love and Larry Crowne both of which received average ratings from critics and little praise. Roberts is currently preparing for her role as the Evil Queen in one of the many Snow White films coming out in 2012. Hopefully this one will break her out of the ratings basement. This red-headed bombshell deserves to be back on top in iconic roles.
