After announcing that Colin Firth would be starring as a journalist in the TV movie about murderer Amanda Knox, things went downhill. Hayden Panettiere (whose last good movie was Remember the Titans when she was 11-years-old) will play Amanda Knox. And there goes any credibility this movie could have had. According to Marie Claire UK, Panettiere requested to meet the real Knox (who is serving time in an Italian prison), but was denied. Knox's attorneys have been working on stopping the film's production saying that the film "exploited" her story.Knox and her Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were both convicted last year for the violent murder of 21 year-old Meredith Kercher. She was sentenced to 26 years in prison for slashing her friend's throat with a knife in 2007 during a violent night fuelled by sex and drugs.
I say, exploit away! (Just maybe choose a better lead next time)
